CBJ Precision Engineered Rifles, Inc. was conceived in 1996 in Conyers, Georgia and in business since that time despite our moves and growth.

Since moving to West Tennessee (Savannah, TN.) in September of 1997 we have perfected and pioneered the "ACCURIZING" process of factory production rifles and since we have  built an entire new division of this company that is now 100% dedicated to the Long Range Hunter, Sniper & Long Range F-Class and ELR Shooter and Hunter alike.

CBJ Precision Engineered Rifles, Inc. and CBJ Precision LLC, relocated to Mobile, Alabama, & Prattville, Alabama in 2010. In July of 2017 CBJ Precision LLC and CBJ Precision Engineered Rifles, Inc. was purchased by Bayou Advanced Weapon Systems, LLC of Natchitoches, LA.  We "build-in" & "engineer-in" extreme levels of quality you simply cannot obtain with any other production rifle or most any other custom gun shop or custom gun makers due in part to the driven passion and dedication of our Master Weaponry Designer and Engineer, CBJ.

Our Business

Our core moto with our prior Parent Company has always been, "Building Relationships and Rifles that last a lifetime"   We meant it when we began this company in Conyers, Georgia in 1996, and that has remained true and only has grown stronger with time.

Our passion started in making hyper-velocity weaponry accurate.  We first needed to build a better rifle for these superior cartridges and calibers.

Many companies missed the "MARK" in terms of the velocity race against the 30-378 Weatherby Magnum, .300 KONG, .300 Pegasus and the 7.82 Warbird of the time... we were determined to not allow this trend to continue...  we knew we were better, faster and more accurate because we knew what it took to make Hyper-Velocity Rifles perform best.

We build and engineer the fastest .30 and .338 Calibers on Planet Earth and nobody has even stepped up to the challenge.  We are the undisputed heavy weights in velocity, energy, accuracy and world-class quality ... PERIOD!

We realized the full potential of hyper-velocity weaponry in 1996 and ever since, this has driven us to perfecting production rifles beyond what a production company can produce in any production environment.  Our core-builds are based on the Remington Ultra Mag Platforms and are stock or improved 40 Degree Shoulder cartridges in 300 RUM, 338, 378, 416 and 458 RUM.  We know the efficiency and potential of the RUM Cartridges.    We also still chamber in many Weatherby Belted Cartridges and even design many wildcat cartridges based on the RUM Remington Line and the Weatherby Calibers.  Our Wildcat designs are just flat-out wickedly fast and amazingly accurate and hard hitting.   Our 338-340 is up to 250 fps faster than the 338 Lapua Magnum and pinnacle of our Elite Hunter Long Range Builds.   Fast, hard-hitting and deadly accurate in a lite, fast and beautiful platform.

CBJ Precision are now the "Signature-Series" brand of rifles that we build under Bayou Advanced Weapon Systems, LLC. (BAWS, LLC).  BAWS, LLC is now leading us into the development of our own Precision Engineered Rifles built off of factory blue printed actions and/or custom actions at the customer's choosing. 

Our platforms are predominately 5.5 lbs. to 10.5 lbs. shoulder-fired rifles of Long Range, Tactical Response Rifles, LR, ELR, F-Class and Long Range Sniper and Hunting Weaponry that evolved into pure performance that is affordable yet highly accurate and sustainable where we just begin to shine at 1,150 yards and range validate every rifle built on the range for out of the box accuracy.

Who We Are

With over 55 years of experience with our Master Gunsmith and Weaponry Designer, Mr. Corey B. James (a.k.a. CBJ) and with a cumulative 140+ years (with the rest of our team), we are here to build the best weaponry available anywhere on Planet Earth.   We have proven this since 1996 and remain unchallenged in quality, accuracy, functionality, balance and performance.

CBJ began at a very early age with his interest in weaponry at the age of 5.  Now in his mid-50's, he is driven to build his pure passion into every build... from his many years of hunting and shooting experiences he gives to the customer extreme "value-added" benefits from his many years of experience at the range and in the field where it really counts, not just on specification sheets, steel and paper targets.

CBJ is a retired US Veteran from the United States Air Force, 1985-1991, Carswell AFB, Texas and he is a pioneer in wildcat designs, custom one-up rifles built upon the Mauser M93, M96, M98 and Springfield Military Actions. This vision eventually grew into the customization of Weatherby, Remington, Ruger, Winchester, Browning, Savage Arms, and Thompson Center Arms weaponry.

These fine weapons factory rifles modified, and upgraded or one-up customs over the years have grown now into the ultimate in Long Range Hunting, and Long Range Tactical Response, Professional Grade and Sniper-Grade weaponry made produced. Bayou Advanced Weapon Systems, LLC builds no compromise weapons in any level conceivable in your dreams... that we build just for you.   Customize, Accurize or provide custom actions and barrels we do it all.

Many of these customizations also evolved into what is now the extreme custom offerings with our own custom actions, Gain-Twist barrels, optics mounting systems, triggers and action bedding solutions consisting of both Aluminum and Carbon Fibler.  Pillar bedded stocks in exotic woods or laminates to completely control the level of quality and performance expectations demanded by CBJ or a variety of Chassis-based solutions we use in our Tactical Response and ELR Weapons.
